Second Oak Fire Rebuilding Workshop

Second Oak Fire Rebuilding Workshop Announced

By Tammi Richards, Alliance Oak Fire Case Manager

The Alliance for Community Transformations (Alliance) and Mariposa County Health & Human Services have partnered to provide a second Rebuilding Workshop for those that have been impacted by the Oak Fire and are looking to rebuild.

It has been just over six months since the Oak Fire swept through our county destroying over 125 homes and close to 100 additional outbuildings. During this time, homeowners have been waiting for their properties to be cleared of debris and hazard trees while contemplating rebuilding.  Now that debris removal has been completed and the majority of the hazard tree removal is wrapping up, homeowners can now consider rebuilding and what that might look like.

Our Rebuilding Workshop 2.0 is an opportunity to provide support to those impacted by the devastating fire and highlight as many resources, financing opportunities and information on necessary requirements to rebuild in Mariposa County. Attendees of this workshop will hear from Habitat for Humanity and Self-Help Enterprises.  Both organizations are committed to providing housing opportunities to the community with a specific current focus on those who have lost their homes in the Oak Fire.

Representatives from the Mariposa County Building, Planning, and Environmental Health departments will be on hand to provide an overview of the process for rebuilds in the county as well as answer questions that attendees may have.  Health & Human Services will be on hand to share resources and answer questions as well as representatives from the Board of Supervisors.

The Rebuilding Workshop will be held on February 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Mariposa Government Center – Board Chambers.  If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Adam McLane, via email at adam.m@alliance4you.org or by calling 559-580-4945.
